The amfAR Gala Cannes

Cannes, 2024

This was my third time attending the amfAR Gala, but it felt especially meaningful. I’ve admired this event for years, not only for its beauty and elegance, but for the powerful work it supports in funding HIV/AIDS research. To be there in person again, this time as a guest of one of the evening’s main sponsors, was both surreal and deeply moving.

I had the honor of attending as a guest of HOMOLOG, the Chinese haute couture house. They were one of the leading sponsors of the night, and I was proud to represent their vision on such an important stage. The team welcomed me with so much warmth, and wearing one of their designs made the experience even more special.

For the red carpet, I wore a piece from their Spring 2024 collection. It was a fitted gown with intricate green leaf embroidery across the bodice and a full, mermaid-style skirt made from sheer pastel green silk. The look was inspired by natural elements and flames. It made me feel like I was stepping into a modern fairytale.

What I remember most about the night was the atmosphere. There was a quiet sense of purpose in the room, something that went beyond the glamour. People from all over the world came together with one shared goal, and that energy was felt in every conversation, every performance, and every gesture of support.

Walking that red carpet, I thought about how far this journey has taken me. From my early days in Colombia, to moments like this, I carry with me a deep sense of gratitude. Being part of something that brings visibility to important causes reminds me why I do what I do.

This night wasn’t just a milestone. It was a reminder to keep aligning my work with intention, and to continue showing up for the things that matter.
